The following Brittanys are available for adoption directly from local shelters or other rescue organizations because there are no ABR rescue volunteers close or there is no room available for them in ABR foster homes.
Please note: Our information on these dogs is very limited. We offer this as a service to Brittanys in need, but the health or temperament of these dogs has not been assessed and cannot be guaranteed by American Brittany Rescue. Please check with the shelter contact to find out what kind of screening has been done and to find out more about the dog.
Please e-mail us if you adopt a dog listed on this page, so we can keep our information current. Thank you!

LeLu
(Minnesota)
LeLu is a lovely young Brittany spaniel. She is 3 years old. LeLu is an owner surrender, due to her family breaking up and their inability to take proper care of her. LeLu is a high energy dog. We are unsure of her hunting potential, but she has proven to be a very loving dog, eager to please. She had been largely an outdoor dog in the past but much prefers being inside with her family. She is a loving dog who craves attention. She especially warms up to women and can be a bit timid when a man approaches her quickly. LeLu would be best suited in a home with family who does not own cats, due to the nature of the breed. She has been spayed, has tested negative for heartworm, has been dewormed and is up to date on all shots.

Brittanys usually live 12-15 years, so if you are contemplating adoption, please be prepared to make that kind of commitment to the dog. Brittanys love their people and require personal attention every day.
Dogs placed by American Brittany Rescue, Inc. have been rescued from a shelter, found as a stray, or given up by an owner who could no longer keep or care for them. All dogs in foster homes have been (or will be) spayed or neutered, checked for heartworm, and are usually on preventative medication for heartworm. A dog's foster family can give you valuable information about its personality and temperament.
There are many more Brittany's available but not yet listed on the web site. These pages are always changing as homes are found and new dogs are placed into rescue. Please contact the State Coordinator for more information.
If you know of a Brittany who needs a home, please contact your nearest State Coordinator for assistance.
